Mrs. Aida NikaManaging Director of AIDA, participated in the three-day SME Assembly 2021, an event dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the EU. The meeting took place from November 15 to 17 in Portorož, Slovenia, under the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

During the event, which Mrs. Nika has attended as an invited guest of the European Commission since 2014, she met with the Greek delegation, European Commission officials, and other partners. The SME Assembly serves as a platform for representatives from European countries to come together, stay informed about EU policies and priorities, and foster collaborations.

Mrs. Nika stated, “AIDA’s ongoing participation in key events for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises is a priority and ensures continuous progress in our sector. This involvement provides valuable knowledge and tools, which are fully leveraged by the AIDA team for our clients and contribute to shaping a sustainable strategy for the company’s future.”

The three-day event featured discussions and workshops, primarily focusing on the need for green digital transformation to be at the core of strategies for small and medium-sized enterprises. The Policy Hackathon took place, showcasing technological innovations in the healthcare sector. Emphasis was placed on the European Green Deal and its role in helping countries drive their economies toward climate neutrality by 2050. The importance of SMEs for the future of the European economy was highlighted, along with the need to ensure their swift recovery.

A significant component of the SME 2021 Assembly was the presentation of success stories from entrepreneurs who made substantial progress during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as those preparing for a sustainable digital recovery.

Additionally, discussions were held on female entrepreneurship and the skills young women need to develop through the educational system to turn their business ideas into reality through sustainable growth methods.
